Why your analytics are empty

Four states look like a broken Analytics tab and none of them is a fault. Two you clear yourself in a click; two are ours, and cost you one message.

Before you start

An account that can open the project.
The two you clear are plan states: the dashboard needs Pro, per-unit figures need Flagship. The two that are ours are the analytics property and the dashboard address — ask Vision Pitch for either, naming the project.

Steps

Open the project and click the Analytics tab.
Read the first block on the tab and match it to the table below.
Clear a plan state yourself: click Upgrade to Pro or Unlock Unit / Lot Engagement Metrics. For the other two, send us the project name and what the tab says.
If the tiles hold real numbers and only one card is missing, nothing is wrong with the tab. That card has nothing for the period, or it is switched off for this project. Ask us.

The state that misleads

Under Analytics preview sits a full-colour page of sample traffic, cities, devices and units, and none of it is your project. The banner is the only thing that says so. Check it before you quote a figure to anyone.

What you see when it worked

A filter bar with 7 days, 14 days, This month and the rest, Loading the latest analytics... while the figures arrive, then tiles filled with numbers and charts beneath them. Reading the dashboard is covered by View project analytics.

If it does not work

What you see	What to do
`Analytics preview`, then `Sample data provided below. Live analytics will appear here once this project is released and its tracking is connected.`	The project carries no analytics property, so the whole page below is a sample. Ask us to set it, naming the project.
`Advanced Analytics` with `Upgrade to Pro to unlock this feature.` and an Upgrade to Pro button	The project's plan has no analytics. Click Upgrade to Pro. The same card appears when the project's subscription was cancelled or never started, whatever plan it used to be on.
`Analytics dashboard URL is not configured for this project.`	The project is set to show an external dashboard and no address was entered. Ask us, naming the project.
`Unit / Lot Engagement Analytics`, `Sample data shown.` and `Available on the Flagship plan`	Everything else on the tab is yours and real. Per-unit figures need the Flagship plan: click Unlock Unit / Lot Engagement Metrics. See Unit and lot engagement.
`No data available` inside one card	That period holds nothing for that card. Widen the period.
Numbers far lower than you expect	The tab opens on the last 30 days. Change the period before reading anything into the figures.
