A published project opens its inventory locked, so an edit takes one click first. The lock is yours to open and close: nothing has to be requested, and nothing keeps it open after you leave the tab.
The live lock. The Actions column stays on screen. The pencil and the bin are greyed, and every one of them reads This project is live — unlock the inventory to edit it. Click Unlock.
A lapsed subscription. The Actions column disappears from the table altogether — no pencil, no bin, nothing to hover. The remaining controls read Subscription inactive — upgrade to resume editing, and the project header carries a Read-only badge saying Subscription is past due. Renew billing to restore write access. No amount of unlocking helps. Renew the billing.
When both apply the Portal names the subscription only, because that is the one you have to fix first.
The chip flips to Unlocked — this project is live and its button becomes Lock. The pencil, the bin, the status picker and the price cells all respond again. The chip returns to Locked — this project is live the moment you open another tab on the project.
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| This project is live — unlock the inventory to edit it | Click Unlock on the chip beside Unit/Lot Inventory. |
| Subscription inactive — upgrade to resume editing | Renew the subscription. Unlocking does nothing for this. |
| The Actions column is missing entirely | The subscription has lapsed. Renew it and the column returns. |
| A Read-only badge in the project header | Same cause. Subscription is past due. Renew billing to restore write access. |
| No chip beside Unit/Lot Inventory at all | The project status is not live, so nothing is locked. Edit as normal. |
| There is no Inventory tab on the project | The project is not a Commercial Project — Commercial Development in the United States. Nothing on the project says so. Ask Vision Pitch to change the type. |
| The edits went in, then the chip locked again | Expected. Click Unlock and carry on; nothing you saved was lost. |
